Your First Visit—What to Expect

What is it like to get a massage at Touch of Therapy?

First of all, we make every effort to provide you with a professional therapeutic experience. We hope you leave feeling relaxed and your discomfort soothed, but even more we want you to experience lasting benefits and better health.

When you arrive you will wait in the waiting room until you are called. Complimentary water and chocolate is provided along with some reading material. At your first appointment you will have some paperwork to fill out which will ask your contact information, health history etc.

When you are called back you will be taken to a massage room and left alone to undress and get under the sheet. You will be asked to remove all your clothes except your underwear. The Therapist will leave the room while you get comfortable. When the Therapist returns she will want to know what you are experiencing—where you are sore, tight, or experiencing discomfort. Based on your specific situation the Therapist will customize a massage for your specific needs which may include a combination of various massage techniques.

You will be kept covered with the sheet (and blanket if you want the extra warmth) the entire time, except where the Therapist is actively working. The massage room is softly lit and relaxing music plays in the background. Your massage will last about 50 minutes, allowing time to undress before and get dressed after.

When the massage is finished the Therapist will leave the room and you will have time to dress. You will then make your way to the office to settle up. We accept MasterCard and Visa as well as cash.

It is recommended to drink plenty of water after a massage. You may also feel sleepy. Many people experience a great night of rest after their massage.

If you have any questions about the process or your specific situation, please don’t hesitate to ask!
